Melissa Rudes

LCSW

I am a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences and Sociology. I received my Master’s Degree in Educational School Counseling from Suffolk University and my Master’s in Social Work from Wurzweiler School of Social Work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing school based counseling at a public school on Long Island, in addition to seeing clients in private practice. Prior to working in the public school setting I was working with families through the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services using a Trauma Systems Therapy Model.

Dedicated to fostering the optimal development of children, adolescents, and young adults, I am passionate about providing support for individuals to lead fulfilling lives.

As a seasoned school social worker, I witness firsthand the challenges that young individuals encounter daily and their impact on relationships. The foundation of my practice is built on establishing empathetic, collaborative, and supportive relationships with both the identified client and parents.

Together, we formulate realistic and attainable goals to promote happier, healthier, and more productive life. Whether addressing anxiety, depression, social issues, motivation,
or self-esteem, I collaborate with clients to develop effective coping strategies that promote personal growth and enable them to achieve their full potential. I invite you to reach out today, and let’s begin a conversation about how I can support you.
